Thanks, Gary, for your help with study materials for the comp and your patience in replying to my questions about those materials. Also thanks for the solid instruction over the years for the various QE and designation courses. I used your problem-solving techniques many times during each of the modules. I had a particular use for the “let’s just make up a problem” method of solving. Happy to report success on all 4 modules!

Gary was an invaluable resource as I studied for the Appraisal Institute MAI comprehensive examinations. The materials he provides do a good job of preparing you for not only the material to be tested, but also the types of questions that the examinations ask. Preparing for and taking these tests is a grueling process. In my opinion, simply reviewing AI course material is not adequate preparation. Supplementing this with working Gary’s problems helped me feel much more confident heading into sitting for the exams. While the materials certainly help, the best part about Gary is the generosity with his time. Throughout my studying, I ran across numerous questions I needed clarification on. He was available to provide timely answers each time a question was asked of him. I was able to pass all four examinations on the first try over the course of one testing window. This would not have been possible without Gary’s materials and guidance. Thanks Gary!

Hi Gary, Thank you for the materials. I was able to start looking at on Friday and so far I really like. This is a great format being able to see the question/problem then the solution on another slide. The fact that you also include an explanation of the solution is invaluable as it provides for much better understanding. I really believe you materials are going to be very helpful for me to be much better prepared for the exam. I really like your teaching style and feel very blessed that I was able to take my Advanced Income Capitalization class from you.

Hi Gary, Thanks for sending the materials. I took a couple of your MAI level classes and I think someone mentioned during one of them that you published test prep materials. In my searching of the appraisal forum I saw that by far you test prep materials were the most highly rated of any. You’re teaching style worked really well for me and I had a lot less anxiety about passing the tests from the classes I took from you than other instructors so I thought your test prep would be to my learning style as well so I purchased your materials. -DGB

If you are a stress case preparing for the four MAI Comp exams, let me tell you, the easy choice is taking Gary DeWeese course. Not only was it thorough, but I passed the comp exams on the first time! I can tell you that academically, the prep course that he offers widely suited the exams and was strategically challenging, but most importantly comprehensive. I personally was very fearful of these exams, but this course can certainly ease those concerns. I am certainly excited to be a MAI and it is in no small part due to this course. -TW

I can quickly see that I’d like to purchase all of your modules. I like the way it is formatted and it connects well to the AI coursebooks so I can go back and reference those during my studying.

I took the synchronous online Advanced Income course that you taught in July and wanted to thank you for the excellent instruction. As I work towards the MAI designation the income comprehensive test was the one that I had been struggling with as it has been a few years since I went through the coursework. It proved to be very beneficial as I recently received word that I did indeed pass the final comprehensive test! So again, thank you very much!

Hey Gary, I just wanted to let you know that with the help of your general and income modules, I have passed all of the comp exams and am officially an MAI. Thank you very much for all of your time and for all of the help you provided. It was a stressful time, but you made it quite a bit better. I think your modules are well worth the investment.

I recently used Gary DeWeese’s Prep Material to study for the four modules of Comp Exam. The review material was instrumental in helping me pass and is highly recommended. The PowerPoint materials for each module are challenging, but offer detailed solutions and Gary was available to answer some of my questions during review. If you are looking for review material, his PowerPoint set will definitely cover the information you need.

Just wanted to thank you for offering the review materials for the comp exam. Spent a good amount of time with those Power Point files. Found out Friday that I passed the 4 modules in April.

Went through most of the General slides today, and they were great. I’m looking forward to getting through the rest of them.

I just found out I passed all four sections of the comp. exam on the first attempt! I relied heavily on your courses during my preparation for the comp. exam. The mid to high level of difficulty of the questions was beneficial in getting ready. Thanks for the additional quick response when I did have questions on the material.

I took both the income and sca (sales comparison approach) reviews you offer. I do believe they were very effective as that is all I really studied.

I will say that the large scale problems were quite challenging on the exam and there was certainly some odd ball geometry related questions, which seemed unnecessary.

The test questions were straight forward and tough, which is good.

A great refresher for those of us who took courses a long time ago, and delivered in a very affordable (in terms of both time and dollars) manner.
